John Lennon's Tooth To Be Auctioned Off

First off, if I had the money I would definitely buy John Lennon's tooth!! I mean, come on!! IT'S JOHN LENNON'S TOOTH... FROM HIS MOUTH... FROM WHERE HE SANG ALL THOSE BEAUTIFUL SONGS..... JOHN LENNON!!!!!!!!!

Here's an excerpt of this story from CNN:

No one knows whether the tooth fairy will be in attendance, but a tooth belonging to former Beatle John Lennon will go on auction in England on November 5. American comedians have long derided the English about their teeth, but is anyone going to spend thousands of dollars on what could be one of the more unusual pieces of Beatles memorabilia?

Karen Fairweather, the owner of Omega Auction house, chuckled when asked why anyone would want to buy the molar and noted that some have expressed interest, while others think it's gross.

"We get a lot of people buying memorabilia as investments," Fairweather said. "Or it could just be a fan that really, really wants a part of John Lennon."

The molar, which has some discoloration and a cavity -- probably why it was removed by a dentist -- will be available with a reserve bidding price of just under $16,000...

Creepy John Lennon Wax Figures

This story was brought to my attention by this week's BeatleScruffs video by Carly. In her video, Carly goes on to describe each John figure. I particularly scratch my head over the one pictured below:

JOHN? NO ... CREEPY? YES!!

"HAPPY B-DAY, JOHN" From The Scruffs and Submariners!

So, it's John Lennon's birthday and TheBeatleScruffs and TheBeatleSubmariners have created video greeting to John on his 71st birthday. I'll absolutely love this fine group of Beatlemanicas for showing their love for John and sharing their wishes for his birthday.

The Submariners

The Scruffs

I would like to add my own message to John;

John, thank you for entering this world. I would not be the same person if not for what I have gained from knowing that there was such a wonderful person on this Earth such as you. I look to you, not only as a Beatle or musician, but as a man who lived a rollercoaster of a life and still managed to slow down and be there for those that needed you. I wish you weren't gone. The world really needs your love, John.

I've heard people older than me claim you as their's... how selfish and foolish of them. You, John, belong to the ages!

I've asked around, "Is it possible to miss someone you've never met?"...

Although I was born nearly eight years after you left this world, I miss you. I want you to know that you are in my heart. I am grateful that I know of your music, your art, your life, and your love. Thank you, John Lennon. Happy Birthday!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHN LENNON!!

It's October 9!! IT'S JOHN LENNON'S BIRTHDAY!!!

John, the world misses you and needs you desperately. Although I came after your untimely departure from this plane, I miss you every day. Thank you for bringing to us your beautiful music and your love. Thank you for expressing yourself when times were the hardest and sharing your mind with those who cared to listen. Happy Birthday, John!

Apple Co-Founder, Steve Jobs, Dead At 56

Now, I know this is not particularly a Beatles story but since Steve Jobs was the main man behind Apple, and The Beatles' music recently became available on iTunes , this is nonetheless a sad and breaking story.

I, myself, do not own any iProducts but I have seen my share of Pixar films. Steve Jobs was one of the co-founders of Pixar and he co-produced one of my all-time favourite Pixar films, Toy Story (1995)

Apple.com has released the above-posted image and this statement on their homepage:

Steve Jobs
1955-2011
"Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple"

From everyone at Audio8ball.com and 90.1 Mt Rock, you will be missed. Our best wishes go out to your family and friends.

George Harrison: The Beatle Who Hated Fame!?

From TheWeek.com

George Harrison wasn't really "the quiet Beatle," said his friend and Traveling Wilburys bandmate Tom Petty. "He never shut up. He was the best hang you could imagine." To those who knew Harrison well, he was also the most stubborn Beatle, the least showbizzy, even less in thrall to the band's myth than John Lennon. Harrison was fond of repeating a phrase he attributed to Mahatma Gandhi, "Create and preserve the image of your choice," which is odd, because his choice seemed to be no image at all. He was an escape artist, forever evading labels and expectations.

In his time, Harrison challenged Lennon and McCartney's songwriting primacy; almost single-handedly introduced the West to the rest of the world's music through his friendship with sitar master Ravi Shankar; became the first person to make rock 'n' roll a vehicle for both unabashed spiritual expression...

The Beatles First Recordings To Be Released

From AntiMusic.com

50 years after The Beatles first entered a recording studio, the complete collection of those tracks will be available for the first time in North America when The Beatles With Tony Sheridan: First Recordings: 50th Anniversary Edition, is released to stores November 8th on Time Life.
The 2-CD set comes with a specially-designed book that is a historical trove of concert and intimate photos taken by Astrid Kirchherr and others who were with The Beatles during the early days of their career.

The book also includes handwritten biographies by each member of the group, signed contracts, original artwork taken from posters and records, and text by Hans Olof Gottfridsson, who has spent years researching this period of the Beatles' career.

In North America, it is generally believed that the Beatles' recording career began on Capitol in 1964. Few know that it actually began on the German Polydor label in 1961...
